BEST DAD is a solo project of singer/songwriter and producer David Caploe, most known for his role in the band HATE DRUGS.

David started making music at a young age, picking up his dad’s instruments that were floating around the house. “I was never very interested in learning other people’s music. I wanted to find my own songs, and I knew they were in there.”

After discovering GarageBand on an old laptop, his love for making songs materialized. Years later, on that same laptop, he produced and released his first project under the name HATE DRUGS. Since then, David has continued to grow as an artist; touring across the U.S., writing songs, and producing music for himself and others.

This project has become an outlet for David to dig deeper into his role as a producer and collaborator, aiming to meld old school colors and textures with modern production.
